Consultation & Feasibility

Dreaming about building a trail, bike park, skills course, or other amenity and want to see what’s possible? A Consultation and Feasibility Study is the first step toward transforming ideas into realities. This service identifies clients’ needs, desires, worksites, existing trail and bike infrastructure, opportunities and constraints for new projects.

Service Features:
  • Client Feedback: We will conduct meetings with project stakeholders to achieve the best fit for all involved parties.
  • Site Selection: If a worksite has not already been selected, we will work with the client to determine the optimal location to fit the desired amenity. If a site is already chosen, we will identify the optimal location for amenities within the site.
  • Inventory: We will assess any existing trail or bike park infrastructure on site. By examining the condition of existing amenities, we are able to determine which amenities will most organically fit clients’ needs as well as the environment.
  • Site Visit & Analysis: We will visit the proposed site to determine the opportunities and constraints we face in the design and construction of desired bike amenities.
  • Professional Opinion: Through site selection, inventory, site visit and analysis, we will determine what amenities are our clients’ likely best fit. We will also make general recommendations for amenity type and geographic placement.
  • Working Documents: We will create and share a PDF field report of all aforementioned items for client use. This document can be further developed into a Master Plan.
  • Time Needed: +/- 2 travel days, +/- 2 work days depending on size of site

Master Plan

Ready to take action? We offer Master Plans for clients who want to develop a professional plan to begin the process of fund-raising, city planning, and community involvement.

 

Service Features:
  • Consultation and Feasibility Study: Master Plans include all items outlined in the Consultation and Feasibility Study. Master Plans can be adapted, however, to exclude this study if it fits the client’s needs.
  • Location Identification: We will determine the approximate locations of all proposed bike amenities.
  • Amenity Description: We will outline general descriptions of all proposed bike amenities.
  • Professional Map: We will provide a map illustrating the locations of all proposed amenities, complete with approximate dimensions. 3D visualization is also available at the client’s request.
  • Project Budget: We will provide a design + build budget for all proposed items.
  • Working Document: We will provide a comprehensive, bound proposal and/or digital PDF for client use.
  • Build Credits - For contracts over $20,000, 25% of plan cost will be credited toward a build. Price may vary depending on size of project.
  • Time Needed: 3-8 weeks, dependent on location and size of project.

Build Plan

Our signature work, the Build Plan is our most popular and comprehensive service for a client. We tailor this service for clients that desire a detailed design plan, construction approach and cost estimate to understand exactly what it takes to implement a project.

Service Features:
  • Consultation and Feasibility Study: Design + Build Plans include all items outlined in the Consultation and Feasibility Study. Design + Build Plans can be adapted, however, to exclude this study if it fits the client’s needs.
  • Community Education and Engagement: We will conduct a design workshop with the proposed community and stakeholders.
  • GPS Surveying: We will GPS all proposed bike amenities and features.
  • Full Schedule: We will provide a schedule of all amenities and features with detailed specifications.
  • Detailed Maps: We will provide a detailed topographic/aerial map illustrating the locations of proposed amenities. We will also provide a 3D visualization of proposed amenities and features.
  • Budget: We will provide an itemized cost estimate of all proposed amenities.
  • Working Document: We will provide a comprehensive, bound proposal and/or digital PDF for client use.
  • Time Needed: 4-8 weeks, dependent on location and size of project.

Construction Documents

Construction Documents are the comprehensive design and engineering package/blueprints for bidding and construction. We offer this service for the client who wants to separate the design from the build, and who intends to put it out to bid. Though we offer this service, we are not proponents of separating the design from the build.

Service Features:
  • Consultation and Feasibility Study: Master Plans include all items outlined in the Consultation and Feasibility Study. Master Plans can be adapted, however, to exclude this study if it fits the client’s needs.
  • Site Visits and Meetings: We will conduct multiple site visits and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Detailed Maps: We will provide a detailed GPS map illustrating the locations of proposed amenities.
  • Blueprints: We will provide AutoCAD construction blueprints for each amenity and feature.
  • Typicals: We will create a construction typicals that provides contractors a clear understanding of project caliber, as well as finished work expectations.
  • Working Document: We will provide a comprehensive, bound proposal and/or digital PDF for client use.
  • Time Needed: 12+ weeks, dependent on location and size of project.
